Lahore Qalandars have discovered yet another talent, as fast bowler Ehsanullah from Swat, came into the limelight during trials, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.
Trials were held in connection with the Talent Hunt organized by Lahore Qalandars management at Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs Usman Dar inaugurated the trials.
Usman Dar said that Aaqib Javed and Atif Rana will keep vigilance on the country’s cricket for the talent hunt mission.
Dar said that a huge number of youths participated in the trial, there are twelve sports in the ‘Kamyab Jawan sports drive’, via the drive players will be discovered from various sports across Pakistan, added Dar.
Dar in his statement has said, that the Lahore Qalandar’s management will work on millions of youth, in the quest for the future star of Pakistan national cricket team.
‘Kamyab Jawan program’ is a historic project launched by the government, said Dar. Dar said the aim is to prepare young talented cricketers for Pakistan’s future in collaboration with Lahore Qalandars. 30% of the country’s population consists of youth only, said Dar.
Dar said there are about 50 million youngsters in Pakistan, out of which at least 10 million talented players have to be brought to the limelight through the new initiative from the government. Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise has played its part in cricket, uttered Dar.
Usman Dar also added if Lahore Qalandars could not discover Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, then Pakistan could lose the two very talented pacers.
Meanwhile, Atif Rana said that in the past, youngsters from the talent hunt initiative have made Pakistan famous in the world.
Atif appreciated the government’s commitment to gathering youth under the umbrella of ‘Kamyab Jawan Youth Program’.
Atif said that the talent hunt team has started its task to discover more talented players from Batgram. But it will continue its voyage at the grass-root level by exploring several towns and cities, he added.
While, Aaqib Javed said that we have conducted trials of about 500,000 young cricketers. According to the vision of the Prime Minister, we will nurture the talent of millions of children, added the former member of ’92 World Cup’.
Moreover, former wicketkeeper and cricketing guru Rashid Latif said that we will guide the youth and will help advance them to the next level.
