Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday expressed his government’s determination not to spare anyone found involved in cruelty by using religion, especially, the name of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Addressing a condolence reference in memory of Sri Lankan national, Priyantha Diyawadana in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Ala Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam was sent by Allah Almighty as a blessing for the whole mankind.

“The message of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), who was declared by Allah Almighty as Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen, is based on humanity and justice,” he said.

The condolence reference was held at the PM Office to express solidarity with the family of late Priyantha Kumara, who was killed by a mob in Sialkot last Friday, as well as the government and people of Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister said the message of humanity and justice given by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were the characteristics of human society as against the inhumane world where the rules like “might is right” and “survival of the fitness” were applied.

He said the Holy Prophet (SAWW) brought an ideological revolution and united humanity through the message of love and justice.

Regretting the lynching of the Sri Lankan national in Sialkot, the Prime Minister said the incident brought embarrassment to the entire nation and dented its image.

"From now on, if anyone is found using religion, especially resorting to violence in the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the government will not spare them," the premier declared.

"Some people are falsely accused of blasphemy and are thrown in jail to rot in there, as neither any lawyer nor any judge, wants to support them," he said. "This kind of [sham justice] cannot be found in any humanitarian society of the world."

Citing the example of the Army Public School massacre, the premier said that since that day, the whole country has decided not to tolerate any such incident again.

"Since then, all Pakistanis have united against terrorism — something which had been unprecedented in the country."

Imran Khan said the purpose of establishing the Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen Authority is also to bring together all religious scholars and educate youth about the life and teachings of the Last Prophet.

The Prime Minister said the business community of Sialkot has collected one hundred thousand dollars to be provided to the bereaved family of Priyantha Diyawadana. He said the bereaved family will also continue to receive the monthly salary.

Imran Khan also awarded Malik Adnan – the person who tried to save the Sri Lankan factory manager from the mob attack during the “shameful” Sialkot incident – with a certificate of appreciation and said that Malik Adnan by showing valour and humanity had made the whole county and nation proud.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also presented him with a letter of appreciation.

The condolence was attended among others by the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan, Federal Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ulema, Artists and Civil Society Representatives.

Later, talking to the media, Malik Adnan thanked the Prime Minister for announcing Tamgha-e-Shujaat for him and giving him a letter of appreciation.

Malik Adnan said he would like to dedicate these awards to the family of Priyantha Diyawadana.
