What could be described as a historical step by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi for the landless peasants of Cholistan, the allotment of 344,000 acres of land to them that had been pending for the last 45 years, has finally been made to 27, 000 farmers of the area through a transparent balloting, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
And surprisingly, the process was completed in just a few months.
On the other hand, CM Naqvi has approved the establishment of Safe City Authority in 16 districts of Punjab under which cameras will be installed there.
The Punjab Home Department has started working on the project, which is expected to be completed at the cost of Rs7 billion.
According to details, cameras will be installed in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Sialkot, Attock, Jhelum, Murree, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Sahiwal, Okara, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh.
