Jamiat Ulema Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has reiterated his party resolve to continue backing Palestinians, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Addressing the participants of a moot, he came down hard on the states seconding Israel's war on Gaza. He rapped the rulers of Muslim states who failed to play their due part for the Palestine cause.
He said: “We want to inform the government and rulers of Muslim states that they will not be allowed to recognize Israel.
“If the rulers of Muslim states try to recognize Israel, the people will revolt against them.”
He added: “We expelled those who tried to recognize Israel in Pakistan. We have experience of defeating the lovers of Israel.”
The JUI chief took a jibe at the US saying after the defeat in Afghanistan, America's superpower tag was also removed.
“America dropped atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. America declared war on Iraq for its vested interests and it did the same in Afghanistan.
“We want to show the mirror to the so-called champions of human rights mirror. How can they raise their voice for human rights when they turn a deaf ear to Palestine?”
He recalled his visit to Qatar, saying: “I went to Qatar as a Muslim mujahid and told Ismael Haniya that I had come here as a Muslim.
“The message of Hamas has been delivered to the decision-makers of Pakistan. At this time, the role of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is gaining importance along with China and Russia.
“China and Russia will also have to step up efforts against the US in the Gulf.”
