A consumer court in Lahore on Monday imposed Rs60,000 fine on the owner of a beauty parlour for leaving the makeup of a bride unfinished and ordering her and the lady accompanying her to leave the parlour premises, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Consumer Court Judge Wasim Afzal Mian heard the petition filed by Dr. Shazia who claimed that she had taken one of her relatives to the parlour for the bridal makeup.
“But the parlour’s management not only overcharged her but also left the makeup unfinished. And to rub salt into their wounds, the owner also showed incivility towards us and ordered us to leave the parlour,” said the petitioner.
She further said that the treatment meted out to her and the would-be bride caused them mental torture and spoiled the marriage ceremony.
Several notices were issued to the beauty parlour’s owner to appear in the court and explain her position, but she did not show up even once, forcing the court to slap fine on her.
Although, Dr. Shazia had demanded Rs1 million in fine, but the court settled for Rs60,000.
