The case of vote buying and selling in NA 127, which had sparked controversy and allegations of electoral malpractice, has been resolved amicably after both the parties decided to withdraw their complaints, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.

Sources close to the matter said that a reconciliation was reached after a unanimous decision to withdraw the complaint, and that representatives of both the parties will request the Election Commission to stop the proceedings and close the case.

The parties had appeared before the District Monitoring Officer on the second day of the notice issued by the Election Commission, and presented their evidence and arguments.

Teams consisting of five representatives of both the parties, along with their lawyers, appeared in front of District Monitoring Officer PP 160 Umar Maqbool.

After reviewing the evidence and hearing the statements, both the parties agreed to settle the matter peacefully and withdraw their complaints, sources said.
