Heavy rain and fog in the Lahore region Friday disturbed the schedules of flights and trains. Motorway also remained closed for 11 to 13 hours due to limited visibility.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, due to bad weather, many flights were not allowed to land at Lahore airport and turned direction to Islamabad.
The Airport Inquiry on a contact confirmed that flights from Jeddah, Kuwait and Dubai were not allowed to land in Lahore while two flights from Abu Dhabi and Doha were diverted to Islamabad.
A cargo flight of the DHL Company was also not allowed to land due to a slippery runway.
Bad weather also affected the trains’ schedule and the trains coming from Karachi were delayed for hours. Some other trains including Karachi Express, Awam Express, Shah Hussain Express and Pak Business Express from Karachi reached Lahore hours late.
Due to heavy rains and fog, traffic entry on the motorways M2, M3 and M-11 remained closed for 11 to 13 hours.
