A man hammered his sister, a widow, to death in Arifwala for honour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Police said the man killed his sister in Jaman Shah area in the jurisdiction of Ahmad Yar police station because he suspected that she had an illicit relationship with a man.

The suspect fled after committing the crime, they explained.

After learning about the incident, DPO Pakpattan and a police contingent reached the site of the incident.

Police said they had sent the corpse to a hospital for the post-mortem and started an investigation into the incident.
