Sindh government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab Tuesday said that PTI leader Ali Zaidi presented a ‘counterfeit’ report to malign the PPP.
He said the Sindh government fulfilled its promise to the public the JIT reports. Wahab claimed that the federal minister Ali Zaidi he only talked about the speculations being made on social media platforms.
He said that all government documents would have contained signatures and stamps, whereas, nobody could claim for having a JIT report with only four signatures.
Barrister Wahab said that in Uzair Baloch’s case there were seven JIT members, who turned their findings into a report and signed it, which was later submitted to the home department.
Criticising Zaidi for producing a JIT with ‘four signatures’, Wahab said that he doubts the PTI leader is in a right mental state. “The question is where did Zaidi get this document from? Who are the people providing Ali Zaidi with these documents?”
Calling the other JIT a ‘manufactured’ document, Wahab said that similar incidents have occurred in the past and Ali Zaidi is doing it now to malign the PPP. “The paper we showed, we showed it with all the official signs, there is nothing of the sort in it (details Zaidi alleged), it is our vindication that it shows malafide intentions towards the PPP,” he said.
He said that there were seven members in a JIT who would sign on a final report. It was the authority of the government to constitute a JIT and its report will be signed by its head first.
The head of a JIT would submit the report to the Ministry of Interior, he added. Murtaza Wahab said that a seven-member JIT had been constituted in Uzair Baloch case and the provincial government publicised ‘verified’ JIT reports signed by seven members.
He said that Ali Zaidi has admitted that he did not possess an official document and it should be questioned from where he is getting the documents.
“Ali Zaidi said he has the JIT with four signatures. Which JIT has four signatures? There is a head of the JIT, who is a government official then there are six members, these seven (members) make a report and then submit it to the home department,” said the PPP leader.
