Balochistan Governor Justice (retd) Amanullah Khan has resigned from his seat, reported 24News HD TV channel.
He submitted his resignation letter to President Arif Alvi on Wednesday.
He has resigned on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He was asked to resign because of the political challenges in Balochistan.
He was appointed as Balochistan governor in October 2018.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had asked Justice (retd) Amanullah to resign, saying that “this does not in any way reflect on your competence; it is just that the transformed political challenges Pakistan faces at present require change”.
The PM had said in this letter, “I intend to appoint a new governor in Balochistan and would, therefore, request you to resign.”
