A Mexican YouTube star faces a possible prison sentence for child pornography charges over a video she discussed on her channel showing the alleged rape of a minor.
A judge decided on Monday that there were sufficient grounds to proceed with the case against 30-year-old Yoseline Hoffman, prosecutors said.
If convicted, she could face up to 12 years in prison.
Hoffman, who has around 14 million subscribers to two YouTube channels, was arrested last week in Mexico City and is being held in pre-trial detention in a women's prison.
In March, a prosecutor accused her of possessing and playing a video filmed in 2018 in which a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by several men.
She did not show the images on her YouTube channel "YosStop," but told viewers that she had received the video and described what happened in it.
The teenager has accused four men of rape and Hoffman and one of the men of child pornography offenses.
Prosecutors have not yet charged any of the men.
The judge gave the prosecution two months to complete its investigation in Hoffman's case.
