The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday directed the courts to discourage the petitions filed by the love-marriage couples against parents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
There has been witnessed an increase in the trend of love-marriage as the couples run away from their homes and contract marriage in courts against the wish of their parents.
In every other chamber in the courts of Lahore, a couple is seen tying the knot.
It is learnt that more than 25 affidavits were bought by such couples for court marriage in one week only.
The Nikah Khwan are reportedly receiving Rs2,500 to Rs3,000 for administering Nikah to these couples.
These love-marriage couples, especially the girls, usually file petitions against their parents for keeping them hostage. The high court has ordered the courts to discourage such petitions.
