The Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday confirmed the interim bails of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Okara Corruption case on Thursday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, LHC Justice Amjad Rafique heard the petition of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi who appeared in the court along with her lawyers.
After hearing the arguments of the lawyers of the parties, the LHC judge initially reserved the decision and after some time issued the orders confirming the interim bail of PTI chairman and Bushra Bibi.
The LHC judge directed the accused to submit a surety bond of Rs 2,00,000.
The court was requested by the petitioners that Bushra Bibi wants to join the investigation of the case against her but there is a fear of arrest so an interim bail of her should be granted.
A heavy police confinement was deployed outside the courtroom in LHC when Bushra Bibi appeared before the judge.
Pertinent to mention here that Anti-corruption Department filed a case against Bushra Bibi on June 2, 2023, on the charge of corruption in road construction in Okara and registered a case under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) Sections 420, 468, 471, 109 and 409.
