Blome says US to continue backing fundamental freedoms, democratic institutions

US Ambassador Donald Armin Blome reaffirmed America's commitment to strengthening fundamental freedoms and democratic institutions during his visit to Lahore, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.


Celebrating the 248th anniversary of American independence in Lahore, Ambassador Blome emphasized the importance of religious freedom and underscored the significance of the US-Pakistan partnership.


The celebration on July 5th saw attendance from government officials, business tycoons, and civil society representatives highlighting key areas of cooperation between the United States and Pakistan.


These included robust trade and investment relations and advanced collaboration through the US-Pakistan "Green Alliance."


In his address, Ambassador Blome reiterated America's commitment to strengthening fundamental freedoms and democratic institutions.


He emphasized that the United States would remain a steadfast partner in expanding economic opportunities for the Pakistani people.


According to the US Embassy spokesperson, Ambassador Blome commended the role of American business representatives in creating quality jobs for Pakistanis, promoting women's participation in the workforce, and introducing innovative business practices.


The ambassador also appreciated the involvement of American business representatives in supporting local communities through corporate social responsibility initiatives.


During his visit to Lahore, Ambassador Blome met with representatives of the Ahmadiyya community and toured the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection.


He reaffirmed the principle that every individual should have the freedom to live and worship peacefully without fear of violence or persecution.


During the visit to Lahore, Ambassador Blome was accompanied by US Consul General Kristin K Hawkins.
