Taking notice of complaints of overbilling by protected consumers, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday ordered legal action against those responsible, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this connection, Naqvi, while giving instructions to all directors of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), said that people consuming up to 200 units of electricity should be compensated for excessive money charged from them. “Assess the entire situation and pinpoint those guilty,” he directed the FIA officials.
Calling the act of putting protected consumers in the category of non-protected consumers ‘criminal’, the minister said it robbed these people of millions of rupees. “They are already confronting financial issues, and to overburden them is not acceptable at all,” he said categorically.
