Three ‘notorious’ dacoits were killed in an armed clash between two gangs of dacoits in Garhi Yasin tehsil of Shikarpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Police said the incident took place within the limits of Golu Tharro police station.
Giving further details, the Force said those killed were identified as Nisar Jakhrani, Riaz Jaffery and Jatoi.
The bodies were shifted to a local hospital.
Police admitted they faced difficulties in reaching the crime scene due to the use of sophisticated weapons from both sides.
Firing was still continuing till last reports came in.
One killed in attack by dacoits in Dehrki
One person, belonging to Sailro clan, was killed when dacoits stormed a locality in Ronti katcha area of Dehrki, Sindh.
Sources in the police told 24News that after having done with their task, the dacoits returned to the woods by crossing police pickets.
On the other hand, dacoits opened fire at a police mobile van on Ronti road.
However, all police personnel, including the area SHO, remained unhurt in the attack, while dacoits managed to flee.
Youth kidnapped in Dehrki
In another incident reported from Ronti, Dehrki, dacoits kidnapped a 16-year-old Ramzan Malik, a labourer.
His family members said that Ramzan and two others had gone to the area to earn their living.
However, they fell prey to dacoits, who after beating them up released two of them and kidnapped the third one, Ramzan’s family said.
Salim Malik, Ramzan’s father, appealed to the government to ensure the immediate release of his son.
Later, a heavy contingent of police left for the katch area to recover the youth.
