There will now be even more Etihad Airways flight destinations from Abu Dhabi International Airport as transfer passengers travel through the capital’s airport.
From 10th June Etihad is to start a limited number of transfer flights connecting 20 destinations via Abu Dhabi International Airport. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has approved the move.
Etihad Airways will operate transfer connections via Abu Dhabi from Jakarta, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo to major cities across Europe including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, London Heathrow, Madrid, Milan, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and Zurich.
Throughout June 2020, Etihad will also continue to operate special flights from Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Airports has also implemented an extensive range of preventative measures at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
These include nasal swabbing and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, as well as new robotic and autonomous sterilisation technologies that complement other measures recommended by the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).
Commercial passenger flights in and out of the UAE were suspended by the GCAA on 25th March, 2020 in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
