Major opposition parties, PML-N, PPP and JUI-F demanded the federal government to fix responsibility of the tragic train accident that killed 36 passengers and all possible aid to victims and injured, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Shehbaz Sharif said, “Imran khan, when in Opp, used to talk about fixing responsibility at the highest levels. Today's train accident is yet another major tragedy to have happened under his watch. How many ministers/officers were held to account? Railways is in utter shambles today in terms of safety and finances.”
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly said, “Deeply grieved to learn about the loss of precious human lives in trains’ collision. My thoughts and prayers are with bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this heart-rending incident. Unfortunate that train accidents have become too common. Responsibility must be fixed.”
The PML-N President expressed his heartfelt condolences and grief over the loss of several precious lives in the fatal collision of Sir Syed Express and Millat Express at Dherki Railway Station. Sharif sympathized and bemoaned the loss of bereaved families.
Shehbaz Sharif demanded the concerned authorities why they didn’t bother to fix the condition of Sukkur division rail tracks which was dilapidated on 13 points according to a written report already sent to the railways authorities. He said it was ‘criminal negligence’ on the part of authorities.
Shehbaz Sharif lamented that the present reign was being regarded as a reign of train accidents.
He demanded a truthful and impartial inquiry into the incident and also asked for stern punishment against the responsible persons. He prayed that the souls of the deceased may rest in peace and also prayed for the early recovery of those who sustained injuries.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari demanded from federal government to immediately investigate the culprits of the train accident and bring it before the people.
In a tweet, the PPP chairman said that dozens of passengers, including women and children, were killed in a collision between two trains. He expressed condolences to the families of passengers and railway employees killed in the train accident. He expressed regret over the loss of precious human lives in the Ghotki train accident.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged authorities to provide immediate medical aid to the injured in the tragedy between Daharki and Reti railway stations.
JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also lamented loss of dozens of precious lives in train accident near Ghotki. Fazlur Rehman said the train accident should be investigated as train accidents have become a routine now.
“To prevent such incidents is only possible when the perpetrators of negligence should be punished,” JUI-F supremo said.
