Schools reopen across the country with 50 percent attendance condition

All public and private schools have been reopened across the country with 50 percent attendance amid strict compliance of SOPs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After 83 days, all public and private educational institutions have been reopened across Punjab.

“Students will come to school six days a week with 50 percent attendance. Due to Corona, no student will be allowed to come to school for two consecutive days. Students will not be allowed to come to school without masks,” the notification reads.

Education authorities in the province to monitor the schools to review the corona SOPs implementation and penalties would be imposed on violators.

The TV channel reported that students rejoiced on school reopening and some of them said that online classes were ‘useless’. Students also vowed to continue learning under the guidance of their teachers.

In Islamabad, all public, private schools and colleges have reopened. The notification reads, “Teachers must focus on completion of the syllabus. The exams schedule will be announced and schools must adhere to the corona SOPs.”

IT may be mentioned that matriculation and intermediate classes have already begun.

Special Assistant to KP CM for Information and Higher Education, Kamran Bangash said, “Welcome back to school students.”

All educational institutions are also reopened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid strict anti-corona SOPs.

Bangash also distributed masks among students and provided hand sanitiser also.

In Sindh, educational institutions classes from grade ninth to intermediate have resumed educational activities including Karachi after a hiatus of two months.

Sindh Corona Task Force has directed the teachers and schools staffers to complete their vaccination process within 15 days as the Education Department will inquire about the vaccine certification after the given time period. The violators would face action by the education authorities.

The Sindh Corona Task Force warned about schools sealing as per the relevant act. While Schools in Balochistan reopened on May 24.

Earlier, the federal government announced that in all federal educational institutions students of 1st to 4th, 6th and 7th classes would be promoted without examination.

The Federal Ministry of Education certified that 5th and 8th examinations would be conducted.

The Director-General of the Federal Directorate of Education approved the announcements and will issue a schedule for the fifth and eighth-grade examinations.

The officials of the education ministry said that last year students from 1st class to 8th were not promoted without examination and 90 percent of students took the exams.

However, in Punjab, provincial Education Minister Dr Murad Raas vowed that there would be no online examination this year and he would ensure it because online exams mean “cheating”.

Dr Murad Raas said that last year there were no exams and students were promoted without having any exams but this year he would ensure on-campus exams.
