Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif insisted that joint efforts must be made to cope with the economic challenges, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Tuesday.
Addressing a day-long pre-budget business conference in the federal capital, he said concerted efforts are needed to achieve the target of sustainable development.
He shed light on the importance of the agriculture sector, saying the rural areas can bring about a change, saying that all the stakeholders would be onboard. He insisted on political stability, saying that economy cannot be streamlined without political stability.
The conference is aimed at exploring avenues for consensus-based economic measures with all the stakeholders on board.
The PM said the government will consider the participants' ideas for a flourishing economy with a strong foundation for development.
Shunning mutual differences, the people should come forward and help the government to get back on track to a better future.
Industry executives from agriculture, information technology, textiles, manufacturing, and other sectors will also speak at the conference.
Last month, reports cited the finance minister as saying that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was ready to sign the charter of the economy despite the different ideologies of political parties.
