The government has constituted a five-member commission to dig into the arrest of the former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Monday.
The commission consisted of Justice Shakur Paracha, former IG Dr Naeem Khan, ex-secretary Saifullah, home secretary, and chief commissioner
Last month, the ex-minister was held and manhandled over a ‘land ownership and transfer case’. However, she was released on the court orders.
"I was stopped on the Motorway for an hour. A male doctor tried to conduct my medical examination." she told the court, adding: "They did not have a female officer with them.
"Officers of Anti-Corruption Punjab were taking instructions on the phone. My bag was also searched without a warrant, and I have still not been given my phone back," she told the court
"These incidents happen when the Constitution is not respected. Every government exhibits woeful behaviour on constitutional violations," the court observed.
