The PTI government is not extending any cooperation to the inquiry commission it has established itself to investigate the Broadsheet saga, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to sources, only National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has provided the relevant record to the Commission of Inquiry on Broadsheet. The panel has yet to receive the information it has sought from the office of the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP), the sources added.
The inquiry commission has recorded statements of Ahmar Bilal Sufi and Shahid Baig, who was Director Audit and Accounts at Pakistan High Commission in London at the time of the payment.
According to the sources, the commission has so far recorded statements of 18 witnesses.
The sources said the commission is likely to complete the investigation by March 23 if it receives the record from AGP office.
The commission formally started its work on February 9.
On January 30 last, the federal government had notified the appointment of Justice (retd) Azmat Saeed Shaikh as the head of an inquiry commission to investigate into Broadsheet scandal.
