A dacoit was killed while another was arrested in wounded condition during a shootout between Shaheen Force personnel and robbers in Karachi Defence Phase-II on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to SSP South Asad Raza, the encounter took place when the police officials rushed to a street where alleged bandits were looting the citizens. 

He also claimed to have recovered five stolen mobile phones from the dacoits.

The deceased robber was identified as Ali Akbar. 

It was also learnt that six cases were registered against Ali Akbar in Defence, Gizri and Darakhshan police stations. 

In the meanwhile, the arrested robber was identified as Hussain Shah, and he was booked in five cases at the police stations in Orangi Town, Site A, Darakhshan, and Yusuf Plaza.
