Taking notice of the inconvenience caused to people due to roads’ closure on account of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches being played in different cities of the country, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Noor Alam Khan has ordered that no road will be closed for traffic even while matches are in progress, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to 24News on Tuesday, he said he had ordered that the people of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Multan should not be deprived of their rights. “Strict action will be taken against those not complying with the PAC order,” he warned.
He made it clear that under no circumstances, he would allow the closure of roads for matches.
The PAC chairman said that armoured personnel carriers could be arranged to take the players to stadiums rather than blocking roads.
He wondered when roads were not closed during the movement of army officers, judges and politicians, what was special in players that the administration had to take such a step.
