The power supply to the State Guest House Karachi, the official residence of the President of Pakistan, has been disconnected for non-payment of dues of 2.6 million rupees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Eighteen days have been passed since electricity was disconnected due to unpaid bill.
According to sources, the State Guest House is managed by the Foreign Office but the bills are paid by the Works Department.
DG PWD (Public Works Department) and DG Foreign Office have been repeatedly informed about the electricity outage, but to no avail.
It merits here to mention that foreign delegations also stay at the State Guest House. Moreover, it contains the residences for the Foreign Office, Presidency, and PWD officials.
Likewise, twenty-one servants' quarters of the State Guest House are accommodated by the employees along with their families.
Due to the 18-day-long power cut, the affairs of the State Guest House have been badly affected.
