Australian cricketing legend Shane Watson is poised to take on the role of coach for the Pakistan team during the upcoming series against New Zealand, according to inside sources.
Shane Watson, a renowned all-rounder, bid farewell to international cricket back in 2016 after an illustrious career representing Australia. With an impressive record of 59 Test matches, 190 One Day Internationals, and 58 T20 Internationals under his belt, Watson brings a wealth of experience to the coaching realm.
Currently serving as the head coach of the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Watson has already made his mark in the coaching arena. It is his first contract as head coach with the franchise.
This appointment marks Watson's maiden venture into coaching an international team, as per sources. The final decision on his appointment will rest with the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi.
