China shows interest in Pak labour-intensive sectors

Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz on Wednesday appreciated China for supporting Pakistan in the war on coronavirus.

The continued assistance by China in combating Covid-19 is another manifestation of the deep-rooted Sino-Pak friendship, the minister said during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing.

The information minister told the Chinese envoy about the Pakistani government’s measures to get over coronavirus crisis.

Ambassador Yao reiterated the Chinese resolve to continue with assisting Pakistan in such situations.

He expressed China’s interest in investing in labour-intensive sectors in Pakistan, particularly the prime minister’s housing project.

Faraz welcomed the initiative, saying such steps will provide people with jobs and the government will extend full cooperation to China for the purpose.
