Zalmi Foundation awards javelin-thrower Arshad Nadeem Rs 10m as a token of appreciation

Zalmi Foundation has awarded javelin-thrower Arshad Nadeem Rs 10 million as a token of appreciation for his historic feat in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK last year.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, former national pacer and Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi’s Director Cricketing Affairs, Muhammad Akram awarded the prize money to Arshad on behalf of franchise chairman Javed Afridi and Zalmi Foundation.

 Zalmi Foundation Chairman Javed Afridi in his message said that Arshad Nadeem's performance made the entire nation proud. Zalmi takes pride in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of our national heroes, and encourages the youth from all walks of life to strive for excellence and make our country proud,” he said.

He said that he will continue to encourage heroes from the platform of the Zalmi Foundation. 

Zalmi Foundation has also encouraged and financially supported Pakistan Blind Cricket Team, Special Athletes, E-Gamers, and MMA Fighters in the past. 

On this occasion, Arshad Nadeem said that he thanks Zalmi Foundation and Javed Afridi for their encouragement.

The 26-year-old Arshad claimed the gold medal in the javelin throw event of the Commonwealth Games with a massive throw of 90.18m at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham in August, last year.
