It's that time of the year again when the world's most elite gather to celebrate fashion's most prestigious event, the Met Gala.

This year's Met Gala, themed 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion', pays homage to centuries of style evolution while celebrating the delicate pieces often overlooked in the fast-paced world of fashion.

Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt has won the hearts of many with her Met Gala 2024 look in a Sabyasachi saree.

Internet showered their praises on the diva while calling her the 'best dressed.'

The ‘Gangubai’ star has made a stunning entry on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2024, wearing an intricately handcrafted, mint green Sabyasachi saree and paying respect towards her Indian roots.

Celebrating this year's 'The Garden of Time' dress code, Alia looked glorious in a sheer saree and garnered the spotlight with her ethereal look. Her saree featured hand embroidery in precious stones, elegant beadwork and fringes, while the 3D flowers against the delicate fabric added a contrasting texture.

The actress paired her masterpiece saree with a 23-foot-long train adorned delicately hand-embroidered with florals using silk floss, glass beading and precious gemstones. She also wore a reimagined butterfly blouse studded with real gems and ruffled sleeves.

Alia Bhatt added an unconventional approach to her look with her massive Sabyasachi jewels. She tied her hair in a whimsical bun and added a jewellery hairband adorned with precious emeralds, Basra pearls, tourmalines and multi-coloured sapphires. to amp up her look. She also wore drop earrings featuring tourmalines and diamonds and a stack of rings from Sabyasachi.

Keeping up with the trajectory of a 'less makeup, more impact' approach, Alia opted for soft makeup, dewy skin, and shades of natural pink to complement her skin tone. The actress took the help of her longtime stylist, Anaita Shroff Adajania to leave a mark at this year’s Met exhibition titled 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.' Alia's saree was meticulously handcrafted by a team of 163 people, including craftsmen, dyers and embroiderers, and it took approximately 1965 hours to create.

The ‘Darlings’ star looked no less than a floral garden fairy in her exquisite ensemble at the Met Gala 2024. Ahead of her red carpet appearance, the diva opened up about her choice of ensemble for the gala event and revealed the deets about her look. She was heard saying:

“The sari's design, with its translucent, glass-like appearance, is not just a nod to the ethereal quality of the garden in Ballard's story but also a tribute to the exquisite, enduring craft of sari-making. What drew me to this look was the sheer audacity of it—how it merges traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde aesthetics. Sabyasachi, known for his dedication to bringing old-world charm and modern sophistication together, seemed like the perfect choice to encapsulate the theme of this year's Met Gala.”
