Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday said that the law and order situation in the province was not good and there was a need to implement the National Action Plan (NAP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, he said that legal action would be taken against the KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for threatening the federal government with marching on Islamabad.
In an apparent reference to Gandapur, he said that if a ‘small’ man would be made to sit on an important seat, same things would happen which were happening in KP today.
The KP governor was of the view that the provincial chief minister issued such threatening statements only to hide his own incompetence. “Gandapur is hiding something from others.”
Kundi claimed that the CM, and not he, was feeling afraid. “Don’t hurl threats at us. Put your own house in order first,” he said, adding, “Gandapur is so scared that he does not have the courage to visit his lands in Dera Ismael Khan.”
Hitting out at the PTI for calling the PPP a party that was confined only to Sindh, he said that the PPP was the party that had its roots in all four provinces of the country.
The governor demanded the constitution of a Joint Investigation Team to probe the Kolachi incident.
He vowed to go to any limit for the restoration of peace in the restive areas of KP.
He lamented that the KP assembly’s session was not being called to discuss the issues confronting the province.
“The country is confronted with different challenges,” he said, adding, “Doors are open for a dialogue with all parties. I will eliminate hatred and bad blood between political parties.”
Kundi said today he would visit Naudero in Larkana to pay his respects at the shrines of Bhuttos.
KP governor went on to say that he would endeavor to play the role of a bridge between the province and the Center, because in the event of estranged relations between the two, it would be the province that would suffer.
“I will try to be the representative of the people of KP.”
