International Islamic university sealed in Islamabad

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) authorities sealed the federal capital’s International Islamic University (IIU) after five university employees and seven students were reported to be infected with COVID-19, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The university has been closed from November 7 to November 20 while all the academic activities will now be resumed online. It is pertinent to note that this is the second time the IIU has been sealed. Earlier the university was closed down last month on Oct 27 when coronavirus cases were reported there.

Islamabad District Health Officer (DHO) recommended thorough disinfection of various departments of the university suggesting the hostel residents found positive with Covid-19 must be isolated till recovery and their contacts must be quarantined in a separate isolation area, as per the notification issued.
While Gujranwala Islamia College has also been closed for one week after nine positive COVID-19 cases, the TV channel reported.
Separately, Rawalpindi Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Amir has tested positive with COVId-19 for the second time. He said: “I have always served the people and humanity and I am not afraid at all. I hope for speedy recovery soon.”
