Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, could not appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as he was suffering from fever, media reports said on Sunday.

According to Indian media, a special probe panel summoned the ‘celebratory kid’ in connection with the cruise drugs case but he failed to show up because he was suffering from fever, an official said.

NCB senior officer Sanjay Kumar Singh led his special squad to Mumbai Saturday after probes of six cases, including the cruise drugs bust, were transferred to it.

Last month, NCB director Sameer Wankhede led a raid and arrested Aryan Khan with others in the drugs case. After three weeks in detention, Aryan Khan got bail on bond on October 30. He was kept in Arthur Road Jail.

On October 2, a narcotic control team raided an alleged drug party on a luxury ship that was preparing to lift anchor for a fun-filled two-night gala voyage to Goa.

On October 3, Aryan Khan and other accused including Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were booked, followed by their appearance before a magistrate who remanded them into one-day custody.

On October 4, Aryan Khan's remand along with the other two co-accused was extended till October 7 and five other accused were also remanded. These were Vikrant Chhoker, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija, and Ishmeet Singh. On October 5, four more accused were sent to NCB custody till October 11.

On October 7, the magistrate's court sent Aryan Khan to 14 days of judicial custody. However, Aryan spent the night in NCB custody. The interim bail application of Khan and others was scheduled to be heard on October 8. On October 8, the court of Judge Nerlikar rejected the bail plea of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha after a marathon hearing of about 5 hours.  Mumbai court announced that Aryan Khan's plea will be heard on October 13.

On October 11, Satish Maneshinde filed a bail plea in the Special Court under the NDPS Act for an urgent hearing as it was not listed on the board. On October 13, the court hears arguments from the defence counsel and the prosecution and adjourned bail hearing and on October 14, the court reserved verdict till October 20.

However, Aryan Khan got bail on October 30 and the court ordered him and other accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha to surrender their passports to authorities.  They were asked not to leave India without court permission and they have to attend the NCB office each Friday to mark their presence.

Sameer Wankhede who led the raid is too facing a departmental probe on charges of making an extortion bid.
