IT Ministry forms response team against cyber-attacks on public data

The Ministry of IT has started forming a Computer Emergency Response Team on the increasing cyber-attacks on the computerized data of the government institutes.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ministry’s response team would work to prevent the damage of cyber-attacks.

The sources said that the IT Ministry had started recruitment of experts and special forensic and training labs would be set up under the project.

The ministry would also develop a framework of intelligence sharing to deal with cyber threats. The report said the federal government had also approved Rs2 billion for the project while special equipment for threat intelligence would also be purchased.

The sources in the IT ministry said that that the recruitment had been started for 58 out of 130 posts and a baseline software has been prepared.
