Strong quake rattles Swat, adjoining areas

A strong earthquake jolted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district and its adjoining areas on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The earthquake was measured 4.8 on the Richter Scale and, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicentre of the moderate earthquake was near Afghanistan’s Hindukush Region and its depth was 120km.
No loss of life or injuries were reported so far. After the tremors were felt, people in the region ran out of their houses and chaos ensued in the area.
On September 26, an earthquake with an intensity of 4.3 on the Richter Scale had hit the Swat region and adjoining areas.
An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude jolted coastal areas of Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal and Badin districts in Sindh on last Thursday morning. The earthquake tremors were felt at 09:45 am jolting Sujawal, Chohar Jamali, Mirpur Bathoro, Jati and other adjacent coastal areas.
In Karachi, tremors were felt at New Challi, Pakistan Chowk and other areas of the city.
