Education institutions in Rawalpindi have been closed for two days in view of the ongoing political situation in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Due to the prevailing law and order situation of the country, the competent authority has decided that all education institutions (government as well as private) situated in Tehsil Rawalpindi shall remain closed for two days (Nov 8 and Nov 9),” a notification issued by the deputy commissioner said.
The development comes amid protests by the PTI across the country following an assassination attempt on former premier Imran Khan.
However, the Islamabad schools have announced that all the educational institutes will remain open in the federal capital.
The private schools association said that they are in contact with the Islamabad administration and see no reason to close the schools.
The association said they would take a decision only if the security situation deteriorates in the federal capital.
