Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan on Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will not succeed to make the army chief’s appointment controversial.
The interior minister made an exclusive talk to 24News HD TV channel and said the Punjab government is behind all the siege and protests from the PTI.
He said the Supreme Court has asked the IG Punjab Police to register an FIR and an honest officer should conduct an inquiry into the case on merit.
Rana Sanaullah said a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) should be formed so that the lies can be countered and the truth will come out.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said Imran Khan wants to make the appointment of the Army Chief controversial but will fail in his aim miserably.
The minister added that pressure cannot work in this way and if this method will be applicable then after every three years, there will be a long march on the army chief’s appointment.
To a query, he said a few persons have burnt the tyres and when the masses stop these people, the police restrain the masses to stop the disturbers.
He also said that only 500 to 700 people are protesting across the province while 1000 police personnel are deputed to support them.
About the chances of negotiations with Imran Khan, the interior minister said with whom to negotiate, there is no politician ahead but a crazy person and they cannot negotiate with him.
