Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) chairman Jahangir Tareen Monday lamented the unfortunate incident of May 9 and ardently hoped that such tragic occurrences would never mar the nation again, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was addressing a press conference along with IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan in Shams Mahal, Uch Sharif on Monday.
The press conference revolved around significant announcements and the shaping of a new political direction.
On the occasion, former PTI MPA Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hasan Gillani decided to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
During the press conference, Jahangir Khan Tareen expressed the belief that all political parties should actively participate in the upcoming general elections.
He shared insights into his political journey, acknowledging the relentless effort he and Abdul Aleem Khan had invested in PTI. Despite their hard work, they faced disappointment and ultimately parted ways with the PTI.
Tareen also revisited his disqualification in the Panama cases, asserting that his disqualification, along with Nawaz Sharif's, had ended after a five-year period.
IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan called for general elections on February 8 as scheduled.
He advocated for the formulation of a comprehensive, long-term economic policy to steer Pakistan toward financial stability and growth.
The duo pledged their commitment to serving the people under the banner of IPP and hinted at the inclusion of more prominent figures in the party days to come.
