A violent clash erupted between two groups of young doctors during the balloting at the Lahore Jinnah Hospital on Thursday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

A verbal altercation turned into a violent clash between the rivals over an attempt to cast bogus votes during the Young Doctors Association (YDA) election.

The clash hampered the polling process and questioned the monument. Established in 1996, the hospital is named after the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The teaching hospital in the Punjab capital, Lahore, began operations in 1994, with limited facilities and was formally inaugurated on February 2, 1996.

In 2005, it added a new 100-bed accident and emergency department and since then it is fully functional with 1500 beds.
