Chief of Army Staff (COAS) attended the Apex Committee meeting along with Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar on Friday, ISPR said.
During the meeting, briefings on the revised National Action Plan, operation in the Kacha area, security of foreign nationals working on CPEC and other key projects, foreign currency regularisation measures, Karachi Transformation Plan, and progress on SIFC initiatives in Sindh were given, the military media wing said.
The issue of Illegal immigrants also came under discussion during the meeting which was attended by key figures including the Sindh police chief and other officials concerned. The authorities have set November 1 as the deadline for illegal immigrants. Islamabad told Kabul about the TORs for the repatriation of illegal Afghans.
According to the ISPR, COAS said the actions against illegal activities will continue with full force. “LEAs and other government departments will continue the enforcement actions against a spectrum of illegal activities with full force to deny pilferage of resources and economic losses that the country suffers due to these activities."
He also stressed the need for synergy among all relevant departments for the gainful effects of the landmark initiatives.
The meeting participants affirmed that state organs, government departments and people are united for progress and prosperity.
Earlier, Army Chief General Asim Munir was welcomed by Corps Commander Karachi on his arrival in Karachi.
