Paint company faces court’s wrath over ‘non-serious’ ad

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Bahawalpur Bench on Friday expressed indignation over a TV commercial of Master Paints and issued contempt notices to the paint company, the advertisement company, the Pemra chairman and the actors who performed in the commercial, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The actors who were issued contempt notices by the court include Mehmood Aslam, Faisal Qureshi and Tabish Hashmi.

Senior judge Justice Anwarul Haq Pannu heard the contempt of court plea.

The petitioner argued before the court that Master Paints had advertised the commercial made on the style of judicial proceedings.

He added that actors – Mehmood Aslam, Faisal Qureshi and Tabish Hashmi had performed in the commercial.

He asserted that the commercial was insulting to the judicial process and against the dignity of the judiciary.

The court issued contempt notices to the parties concerned in the case and adjourned the hearing of the case till October 12.
