Jamaat-e-Islami emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has strongly condemned Israel and the United States, branding them the "biggest terrorists" in the ongoing conflict in Palestine, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
Speaking at the “Gaza Million March” at Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi, he emphasized that the protest aims to express solidarity with the Palestinian people who are bravely resisting oppression.
A large number of citizens gathered to show support for Palestinians in Gaza.
In the fiery speech Hafiz Naeem highlighted the stark contrast between the military might of Israel, which boasts a formidable army, tanks, bombs, and missiles, and the determination of Palestinian fighters.
“Despite the overwhelming military power at Israel's disposal, Palestinian fighters are courageously standing their ground,” he stated.
He lamented the tragic loss of life in Gaza, revealing that approximately 43,000 individuals have been killed, including over 30,000 children and women.
“Israel is not only bombing homes but also targeting tents and hospitals, cutting off food supplies to the Palestinians. The US stands behind this terrorism,” he lamented.
Pointing to recent developments at the United Nations, he criticized Israeli PM Netanyahu for presenting expansionist plans during the UN meeting, arguing that Israel's ambitions extend beyond Palestine to the holy cities of the Islamic world.
“Netanyahu has boldly declared his intentions to create a Greater Israel, mapping a new Middle East. Unfortunately, no one seems to be holding Israel accountable, even with the UN's presence,” he lamented.
Hafiz Naeem praised countries that walked out during Netanyahu's speech but stressed that mere resolutions and protests are insufficient.
He called for decisive action against Israel's actions, asserting that while the US speaks of peace, it continues to supply weapons to Israel. He noted that both presidential candidates in the US elections are vying to demonstrate their support for Israel.
He urged global awareness and action, stating, “People with a conscience around the world stand with the Palestinians. Millions are protesting against their governments in the US and Europe, and people in Muslim countries support the resistance in Gaza.”
JI emir expressed concern over the inaction of Arab nations, questioning how 70 to 80 million troops, advanced missile technology, and formidable air forces can exist in Islamic countries yet fail to confront Israel.
“With a population of 8 to 9 million, how is it that Israel can continue to kill our children?” he asked.
Hafiz Naeem also condemned the use of phosphorus bombs against Palestinians, describing the horrific effects on civilians, particularly children.
“I salute the fighters and the children of Gaza, and I pay tribute to the women who refuse to bow down. Despite Israel destroying 90% of homes in Gaza, the Palestinians remain steadfast in their resistance,” he added.
