Jbe Kruger shot a final-round three-under 69 to triumph by two strokes at the Asian Tour's weather-shortened Mercuries Taiwan Masters on Sunday for his first win in five years.

South Africa's Kruger finished on eight-under par after Typhoon Krathon wiped out Thursday and Friday's play and reduced the tournament to 54 holes crammed into the weekend.

South Korea's Wang Jeung-hun and Thailand's Pavit Tangkamolprasert finished tied for second on six-under at Taiwan Golf and Country Club.

Kruger and Wang had stood on the 18th tee both on seven-under par but the South African's closing birdie proved more than enough as the South Korean dropped a shot after missing the fairway.

"It means the world," said 38-year-old Kruger, who becomes a three-time winner on the Asian Tour.

"I did not come here with any form. Not been playing great, so it's unbelievable."

Thailand's Chonlatit Chuenboonngam (70) and Rattanon Wannasrichan (71) plus Indian Yuvraj Singh Sandhu (70) tied for fourth, three back from Kruger.
