At least one person died while eight others sustained injuries in a huge explosion near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
An explosion was reported near Karachi airport on Sunday night, with sounds of the explosion heard by people in different areas.
A heavy police force was dispatched to the scene. According to SSP Malir Kashif Abbasi, they were checking the nature of the explosion.
According to officials. the explosion occurred near Karachi airport signal and did not take place within the limits of Karachi Airport.
The officials said all airport facilities were safe. According to eyewitnesses, some vehicles caught fire.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar has ordered a quick rescue operation as injured persons are being transferred to Jinnah Hospital.
Sindh chief minister Murad Ali SHah took the notice of the incident and sought a report from the police chief. He also ordered the best medical facilities for the injured.
