COAS okays reshuffle in top military brass

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday approved several new transfers and postings in the top brass of the military, said a press release issued by the military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations.

According to ISPR, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who was working as Chief of General Staff, has been posted as Commander Rawalpindi Corps.

Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas, who was Commander Rawalpindi Corps, has been appointed Chief of General Staff.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Chiragh Haider, who was working as Director General of Joint Staff Headquarters, has been made Commander Multan Corps.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf, who was serving as Commander Multan Corps and Commander South Command, has been appointed Director General Joint Staff Headquarters.
