Shoaib Akhtar is known for his fierce bowling and is widely known as the fastest bowler the game of cricket has ever seen. He has also an unwanted reputation of being a big mouth, arrogant and some playboy like personality due to the controversies that usually engulfed him throughout his career.

After the retirement, though he time and again showed his inclination towards Sufism and religion but the stigma of being dubbed as a bad and temperament person still haunts him time and again.

However, his fiery remarks and candid conversations on and off the media still keep him in the news and give credibility to the rumours of him being a big mouth and arrogant person.

Recently in an interview with a TV channel, Shoaib again resorted to his fiery spells but this time through his words as he took to task every person he was asked about.

He described the resignations of Misbahul Haq and Waqar Younis as a retreat and also accused a player who played too fast (Shahid Afridi if you can’t guess) and a player who played too slow (Misbah as you can rightly guess) as main culprits for the debacle of Pakistan’s standards of the game.

He also announced that he would only accept the role of PCB chairman only in Pakistan cricket and nothing else would tempt him. While showing his desire, he also rued that Prime Minister Imran Khan think himself as child (reasons may be obvious in the tantrums he throws time and again) yet and only worried about his well-being and as if he has earned enough to spend a good life.

However, his remarks about his former captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram was the on which have stunned every one.

He seemed unhappy with Wasim for his statements regarding him, his character and life choices in different interviews.

The former pacer, who has often “caught at a club” by Akram, has shared how he picked up the habit from his “seniors,” case in point, Akram himself.

He said: “I have heard Wasim Akram complain in interviews about how he caught me at a club. But can someone ask him if he ever – in 14 years – grabbed me by the ear and took me to the gym?”

“He [Wasim Akram] himself has spent his entire life at clubs. I used to get injections for my knee problem so couldn’t do that often. But if I went to the club once in a blue moon, what's the big deal?"

Akhtar added that whatever he knows, he has “learnt from my seniors, and all my seniors would be clubbing, so I have learnt that from them too. If my seniors were disciplined, so would I.”
