UAE to start fundraising campaign for Pakistani flood victims from Sept 10

Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al Zaabi has said a fundraising campaign will be started in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and, Sharjah from September 10 to provide more aid to the flood survivors, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Wednesday.
The UAE ambassador said that torrential rains and floods have caused heavy damage to Pakistan and UAE government stands with the people of Pakistan in this difficult time.
UAE Consul General Karachi Bakhit Atiq al-Rumiti said that several tons of relief goods have been sent to Pakistan for the flood victims. “Seventeen containers loaded with 130,000 food packets have reached Karachi and more relief goods for Pakistan are reaching Karachi from UAE soon, he added.
Bakhit Atiq al-Rumiti said both Pakistan and UAE enjoy long-standing ties. “UAE will provide food for the flood survivors and help to build houses. Medical camps for the ailing communities will also be set up in the flood-hit areas, he added.
