4 suicide-bombers killed as attack on FC headquarters in Mohmand thwarted

The security forces at 4:00 AM on Friday morning (September 6) foiled an attempt by four suicide bombers (Khawarij) to enter the FC headquarters in Mohmand by eliminating all four of them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday said that soon after having foiled the attack, the forces then started combing the area.


“The security forces are determined to root out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement added.


The terrorists tried to storm the headquarters and sneaked into the Civil Adminstration Colony. Security forces engaged the terrorists, resulting in their elimination.


President, PM commend security forces


President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for successful operation against Khawarij and foiling terrorist attack on FC Headquarters in Mohmand. “Our security forces successfully eliminated all the four Khawarij involved in the attack,” the president said in a statement issued by the President House in Islamabad.


He commended the security forces for eliminating all four terrorists involved in the attack.


President Zardari praised the security forces’ effective and courageous action against the terrorists, saying that the entire nation was proud of its brave soldiers who were always ready to defend the motherland. He reiterated that terrorists will not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.


Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday paid tribute to the soldiers and officers of Pakistan Army for foiling terrorist attack by Khawarij terrorists on Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Mohmand district.


The prime minister, in a statement commended the army personnel for eliminating four suicide bombers who attempted to storm the camp. “The entire nation including himself salutes the brave officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army,” he said.


The prime minister reiterated the government’s resolve to continuing fight against terrorism until its complete eradication from the country.


He appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army’s soldiers and officers for cleansing Pakistan’s soil of terrorist elements. “The entire nation stands united with the armed forces in the war against terrorism,” he added.


Mohsin Naqvi commends bravery of security forces


Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the security forces for foiling the attack attempt by Fitnah Al-Khawarij terrorists on the FC headquarters in Mohmand.


In a statement, Mohsin Naqvi said that the security forces foiled the nefarious intentions of the cowardly enemy who attacked in the dark.


The brave followers brought the 4 terrorists of Fitna Al-Khawarij to hell and brought them to a terrible end, Mohsin Naqvi said.


“I congratulate the team of security forces for foiling the attack and bringing the terrorists to hell”, the Interior Minister appreciated.


He said that the security forces of Pakistan are determined to end the evil existence of the terrorists of Fitnah Al-Khawarij.


The brave men of the security forces have always foiled the terrorist activities by taking timely action, which the nation can rightly be proud of, the Interior Minister concluded.


Separately, unidentified armed men kidnapped a policeman while returning to his home in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


According to police, the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sakhi Zaman, deputed at Baka Khel police station, was kidnapped by the armed men from Circular Road.


The police said, cop was kidnapped en route to his home after ending the duty. The hunt to recover the policeman has begun.


Meanwhile, at least one police constable embraced martyrdom and another sustained injury in a shooting incident near Sethi Mosque in Sikandarabad, Abbottabad.


According to the police spokesperson, Constable Shahzaib, aged 28, was killed, and Constable Ehtisham, aged 21, was injured during the attack late at night.
