Gold prices in the local market on Saturday remained unchanged after it touch a historic high level during the outgoing week amid record depreciation in the value of the rupee against the US dollar.
According to the data released by All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the gold price (24 carats) remained unchanged at Rs214,600 per tola and Rs183,985 per 10 grams, respectively.

The price of the yellow metal increased during three sessions — from Monday to Wednesday. The gold prices have touched an all-time high of Rs217,000 per tola during this week, however, the meager recovery of the rupee against the dollar during the last two sessions pulled the prices of the yellow metal down.
Gold price moves in line with the rupee-dollar parity as the country meets almost all its gold demand through imports, and traders follow its international price in setting rates in the country.
