A dispute over jurisdiction among the police of Khanpur, Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been delaying the registration of hiking trail extortion after the kidnapping of locals and foreigners.
According to sources, armed men yesterday kidnapped six foreign and local citizens for six hours on a popular hiking trail.
The outlaws deprived the detainees of cash and valuables, the sources said, adding that the abductors tortured the hostages and sent two of them to an ATM to get more money.
However, the law enforcers have failed to pay heed to their six-hour ordeal, they maintained.
