Adiala Jail administration has given the permission to five PTI leaders to meet PTI founder Imran Khan. PTI chief Barrister Gohar, Barrister Ali Zafar, Mubashar Maqsood Awan, advocate Ali Imran and advocate Rizya Sultana were allowed to meet Imran Khan.
Earlier, police have released PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters and other PTI leaders who were later shifted to nearby marriage hall in Rawalpindi. After their release, Imran Khan's sister leave for Lahore from Motorway.
Earlier, police have taken into custody Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Aleema Khan and others from Gorakhpur check post. Imran Khan sisters and others PTI leaders were denied entry to meet Imran Khan. Police took Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan and Uzma Khan into a police van. Nadia Khan and Qasim Khans were also taken into custody. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar and Secretary General had condemned the arrest.
Earlier, PTI leaders staged protest outside Adiala Jail after they were not allowed to meet PTI founder Imran Khan. Talking to media, Opposition leader Umar Ayub said that they came with court orders for a meeting but were still stopped by police. He said the courts must make sure their decisions are followed. He lamented there is no justice, no rule of law in the country right now. PTI leader Zartaj Gul told media that Imran Khan was not allowed to offer Eid prayers and Imran Khan was not allowed to talk to his sons in three months. She questioned why friends cannot meet Imran Khan.
Zartaj Gull said this is not fair. Everyone knows Imran Khan is innocent and that is why he is in jail. Zartaj also condemned the way women political workers were being treated. "Dragging women by their hair is wrong. The government is treating political workers like terrorists," she said. She warned that if meetings with Khan are not allowed, the crisis in the country will get worse. Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Khan Bachhar, said that even Imran Khan’s sisters were not allowed to meet him. He said this kind of treatment is shameful.
“He is the head of the largest political party. At least allow his family to meet him,” he said. PTI leaders said they will continue their peaceful protest and will soon announce their next plan. They said they will keep fighting for justice, the Constitution, and democracy in the country.
